Short and Sweet Business Portraits

If you only need a few great new images for your website, social media and LinkedIn profile, this is your package. We will be working with one background (either a backdrop, or a natural space or architectural location) and will focus on creating a series of images in a variety of poses. You will receive access to a digital gallery of watermarked images where you can select your images and purchase any additional ones that you love.

• Additional images are available to purchase starting at $175 for a single image, with discounts for multiples
• Images are licensed for small business use. AI use is strictly prohibited.

After booking and confirming location details, a booking agreement and invoice will be sent to you.

Please plan for this much time for your session:

Less than 10 minutes for a single student
Add 5 minutes for each additional student
Add 10 minutes for sibling photos
Add 10 minutes for family photo

If you know that your student will need a little more time, please add that in your booking notes. 


Cancellation policy:

Minimum of 72 hours notice - A $20 administrative fee will be billed per order. (Not per student.) The remaining amount will be refunded.
Within 72 hours of the appointment time - A $20 administrative fee will be billed per order, PLUS 25% of all booking fees.
Within 8 hours of the appointment time - A $20 administrative fee will be billed per order, PLUS 30% of all booking fees.

No-shows will be charged a $20 administrative fee plus 50% of all booked services to cover my time. Don't forget! 

Bookings may be transferred to another person during the same time with the photographer's approval. 

If photo day needs to be cancelled due to force majeure or circumstances on my end, you will receive a full refund.

Late arrivals and no-shows: 

No-shows will be charged a $20 administrative fee plus 50% of all booked services to cover my time.

If you arrive late for your time block, your available session time will be reduced, and it is likely that the variety of your images may be as well.

Some of the fine print

• This offer is valid only for Salmon Arm Neighbourhood Welcome package recipients. Names will be verified. 
• Any bookings that are not on the Neighbourhood Welcome lists will be cancelled. If you paid by credit card, the card processing fees will not be refunded. 
• Offer valid for the month that you received your package, plus two months. For example, if you receive a package in March, you can book a time up until the end of May. 
• The offer is subject to calendar availability, with a first come first served stance. 
• The offer holds no cash value and can not be traded in for a different offer.
• Your session fee of $99 plus GST includes one high resolution digital download with personal use print licensing.
• Business use licensing can be negotiated with your photographer.
• Payment in full is required at the time of booking, by credit card or e-transfer. 
• Your session fee serves as a retainer and is non-transferable.
• Locations must be pre-approved and deemed safe by the photographer. 
• Valid for families, couples, or individuals. 
• Not valid for use at an event.
• A booking agreement will be sent to you, and is required to be signed in order to complete the booking.

This is a private version of the Out Of Auto group lesson. We will spend an hour together, focusing on manual modes in your camera, so that you can document your family, travels, and life in the way that you choose to.

The photo here is from 2011, when my child was constantly running, and I had no idea how to work a camera! I spent a lot of time through trial and error, figuring out the ins and outs of how to use the manual functions on a camera. Since then, I have built a small photography business that captures beautiful school photos, memories with Santa, the very best musical moments at Roots & Blues, the fast action of field and snow sports, and milestone grad portraits as young adults step into the next stage of life. 
I remember the frustration of not knowing what the different features of my camera did, and not knowing how to make adjustments when my images weren't coming out as I wanted. This is an opportunity for you to receive all of the information that I had to dig for; the things that I didn't know I didn't know! 

Out Of Auto is a beginner lesson that will go over the basics of exposure, including aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and simple exposure metering. We will also touch on different focus types, white balance, image composition, and different lenses and what the numbers on them mean. The lesson style is casual and conversational; questions are encouraged. In the private lesson format, we will focus on your precise needs.

This is a hands-on learning opportunity, meaning that you will be exploring your personal camera throughout the lesson. 
For this class, you will want to bring your DSLR or mirrorless camera, any lenses in your collection, a clear memory card, charged battery (or multiple batteries), your camera manual in paper or digital format, and a list of questions so you don't forget them during class.


Location: Downtown Salmon Arm

Who this class is for: This class is ideal for people who are wanting to learn the basics of using their camera, and prefer in-person learning opportunities. The information shared is not top-secret and can all be found on the internet, but not everyone learns best that way. If you want the opportunity to ask questions and practice as you learn, this is the space for you. If you learn best in one on one situations, this is the class for you.

This booking is for one person. If you would like to make a semi-private booking for a group of friends, please reach out to me to make arrangements.


Booking Terms: 
Payment in full is required in order to secure your spot. 
Your booking is fully transferable to another individual. (Please share details with me so that I can make arrangements to send them class information.)
Cancelations with more than 72 hours notice prior to the class are eligible for a full refund IF the space can be filled. (less credit card fees, if applicable) If the space can not be filled, the cancelation is eligible for a 50% refund. 
Cancelations within 72 hours of the class are not eligible for a refund, but may be transferred to an alternate time or service, subject to the instructor's availability. 
This is a safe and inclusive learning environment. Any participant acting in a manner that is making the instructor feel unsafe will be removed from the premises immediately.

From backyard barbecues to private rentals of local venues, this includes up to three hours of documentary coverage of your personal gathering, for up to fifty people. I'll capture the smiles, the laughs, the hugs, the engaged conversations, and all of the other interactions that happen at a party. These are often the images that families hold on to through the years as they tend to show the true personalities of all of your favourite people.

Casual group photos can be done during this time. 

Your booking includes a curated gallery of digital images, with personal use licensing for you and your guests. 
Portrait retouching is not included but can be purchased as needed after receiving your image gallery.

A non-refundable retainer of $250 plus GST is required in order to hold your booking time. The remainder of the amount is due two weeks prior to your event date. Please watch your inbox for a booking agreement and invoice.

Weddings and Business events are not included in this rate.
